Aquaponics is the science of integrating hydroponics with aquaculture (cultivation of aquatic organisms). 
Aquaponics has become increasingly popular in the commercial production of many organic vegetables and herbs.  The fish and plants are integrated into a soil-less system that, ultimately, creates a self-sustaining ecosystem.   In this process:

1.  The fish produce waste or emulsions.

2.  Mineralized fish emulsion is used by the plants for growth.

3.  The plants remove pollutants for aquatic life.  The EcoWall(TM) system becomes a natural, biological filter creating a pristine environment for the fish and other aquatic organisms to thrive an reproduce.

Ultimately, water and nutrients are recirculated within the aquaponic vertical garden, eliminating the need for additional fertilizers.
