Vertical gardens create habitat for wildlife.  As human infringe on natural spaces, the ecological landscape begins to change and shift.  In urban environments with little space to plant horizontally, the natural element can be infused by exploiting unused vertical space.  This will allow for a variety of insects, birds, amphibians, and other wildlife to colonize and utilize this newly, vegetated space.  Possible biodiversity applications include:

  1.   Creation of corridor space between varied landscapes. eg. a ground-level park to a roof top garden.

  2.   Increased connectivity in urban environments for the attraction of wildlife and pollinators.

  3.   Designed to create biotopes which display varied plant material from different regions of the world or native plant communities.

  4. Attraction of wildlife for ecotourism and resorts that provide visitors with habitat immersion and interaction with organisms in their natural environments.
